Yale Law School admitted students with an LSAT score as low as 155 last year, and I’ve even seen scores as low as 153. However, even with an LSAT score in the 176+ range, your chances of getting into Yale are still low relative to other top law schools. As the #1 ranked law school in the US, Yale is notoriously selective. Your total application package is especially important at Yale, and your GPA, Letters of Recommendation, Resume, Personal Statement, Essays, etc., should all be outstanding in order to be a competitive applicant at Yale.

Yale received 3539 applications for the class of 2023 and accepted only 262 students. With an acceptance rate around 7%, you are going to need much more than simply a high LSAT score to gain admission to this most prestigious law school.

    • It’s very, very rare. If you are a world famous novelist at age 22, but didn’t do so hot on your LSAT, you might have a pretty good shot :). The rest of us should expect to need very good numbers to get into Yale.

  1. Do you happen to know the CGPA range for these top schools? And how do they weigh the LSAT and CGPA? If I had a really high LSAT score but a low CGPA or vice versa, how would they look at it?
